PR-100 Rust Inhibitor

PR-100 is a low alkaline water soluble interim process rust inhibitor containing Sodium Nitrite. It is formulated specifically for ferrous metals. In addition to protecting iron and steel parts, it also is used to inhibit steel media for longer term storage.

Usage and Dilution Instructions

Use 1 to 4 ounces per gallon of water. Usage may vary depending on nature of parts, nature of process, physical characteristics, humidity, storage conditions, time requirements, and equipment used. This product was formulated to provide ferrous metals interim process corrosion protection for 30-60 days. The length of protection will vary depending on storage conditions humidity, nature of part, alloy, and processes involved. It is not formulated to protect parts from extremely high humidity, water sprays, salt sprays, or direct contact with water or rain.

Handling and Storage

This product does not pose any fire hazards. Use good industrial hygiene practices. Product and its solutions may be drying or irritating to skin and eyes. Wearing chemical safety goggles, rubber gloves, and impermeable apron, etc. is recommended. In case of skin contact, wash with soap and warm water. In case of eye contact, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and consult physician. Store in tightly closed container in a cool dry place to help prevent caking. When stored as stated above, shelf life is a minimum of 2 years.
