Usage and Dilution Instructions
Use a minimum of 3 to 4 ounces per gallon of water for optimum protection. Solutions should be applied in final stage of parts washer by spray or soak application. Solution temperature can vary from room temperature to 180° F. Optimum protection is achieved when solution temperatures are maintained at 130°F. Solutions which are properly maintained in accordance to manufacturers’ recommendations will give a minimum of 30 days protection. Recommendations include that parts be thoroughly cleaned and free of oil and particulate, cleaning and inhibiting solutions and equipment be properly maintained, and parts are air dried before packing. Parts with pre-existing corrosion which has not been removed, and surface passivation performed may rust. Parts exposed to excessively high humidity, rain, mists, water or salt spray, acid fumes or harsh environments will have reduced protection periods.
Lab tests using 3 ounces of MP-222 per gallon of water demonstrated that MP-222 provided a minimum of 7 days of protection when silicon iron parts were stored at 75° to 80° F. at 100% humidity.
Handling & Storage
This product poses no fire hazards. Use good industrial hygiene practices such a wearing chemical safety goggles, rubber gloves and impermeable apron as necessary to prevent personal contact. If eye contact occurs, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult physician. In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water, removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Store product in tightly closed containers between 50° and 85° F. Rotate stock. W hen stored as stated above, shelf life is a minimum of 2 years.
